The kitchen is where a house proves itself every day. New Life General Contracting remodels kitchens across Indianapolis with the same discipline we bring to commercial work: a written scope, a coordinated schedule, and finish carpentry that holds up to daily use. Our portfolio includes a full Victorian kitchen renovation with custom navy cabinetry, a live-edge island, hammered copper fixtures, and a decorative tin ceiling — the kind of project that asks a contractor to be part builder, part craftsman.

What a kitchen remodel can include

  • Custom and semi-custom cabinetry, built-ins, and coffee-bar or pantry nooks
  • Countertops and islands — including live-edge wood and stone
  • Sinks and fixtures, from farmhouse and copper to modern clean-lined sets
  • Tile backsplashes and flooring — hardwood, tile, and LVP
  • Layout changes: walls moved, islands added, work triangles fixed
  • Lighting — recessed, pendant, and under-cabinet — coordinated with licensed electricians
  • Appliance installation and the plumbing and electrical coordination behind it

Kitchens in older and historic homes

Indianapolis is full of older homes whose kitchens were added as an afterthought. Remodeling them well means respecting the house — its trim profiles, its proportions, its original woodwork — while giving it a kitchen that cooks like a new one. Historic and Victorian restoration is one of our specialties, and it shows most in kitchens, where period detail and modern function have to meet in the same ten feet.

How we run a kitchen project

We start with a walkthrough and honest conversation about how you use the room, then a written estimate that separates the must-haves from the nice-to-haves so you can decide where the money works hardest. Demo, rough trades, cabinets, counters, tile, and finishes follow in sequence, with one contractor coordinating all of it — and a final walkthrough before we call it done.

A Victorian Kitchen Transformation

This kitchen came to us with dated wood cabinets, a drop ceiling, and decades of wear — and left with custom navy cabinetry, a copper tin ceiling, and a live-edge island. Here is the same room, before, during, and after.

A word on where the money goes: in most kitchens, cabinetry, countertops, and appliances are the largest line items, and they are also the choices with the longest lead times. We itemize the estimate so you can see those numbers clearly and decide where to invest — solid cabinets and durable counters age well, and they are the parts of a kitchen you touch every day. If the budget needs to come down, we would rather adjust a finish selection on paper than cut corners in the rough work behind the walls.

We take on kitchen remodeling across Indianapolis and the surrounding communities — including Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, and Greenwood — and throughout Central Indiana.
